Looking For A New Monitor – B&H Has A Deal For You
If you’re looking for a larger monitor, B&H may have the deal you want, especially if you are looking for a curved monitor. Today’s post will cover information on the deal and the specs for the Samsung 27in monitor.
**NOTE: This is not a sponsored post. This post is based on owning this monitor**
About The Deal From B&H
B&H has the Samsung 27in curved monitor, model S39GD, on sale for $109.99. This monitor is usually $199.99, which is a $90 savings on an excellent monitor.

For those who have never used a curved monitor before, it does take a little getting used to. Some of the benefits of curved monitors
- Curved monitors enhance immersion
- Curved monitors wrap around your field of vision, creating a more natural and engaging visual experience. This design mimics the curvature of the human eye, making it easier to focus on content and enhancing depth perception, which is particularly beneficial for gaming, movies, and simulation applications where peripheral awareness is important
- Reduce eye strain
- The curvature keeps the distance between your eyes and the screen more uniform from edge to edge. This reduces the need for constant refocusing and minimizes eye fatigue during prolonged use. Large flat monitors often force the eyes to adjust between the center and edges, which can lead to strain and headaches
- Provide a wider, more natural field of view compared to flat screens.
- Curved screens expand your peripheral vision, allowing you to take in more content without moving your head. This makes ultra-wide curved monitors ideal for multitasking, video editing, and immersive gaming, as you can view multiple windows or game environments more comfortably
- Enhanced Depth and Realism
- The curvature creates a subtle 3D effect, improving depth perception and making images appear more lifelike. This is especially useful in games and media where spatial awareness and realistic visuals enhance the experience
- Ergonomic and Comfort Benefits
- Curved monitors encourage a centered seating position, reducing neck and shoulder strain. The consistent focal distance across the screen allows for more natural eye movement, and the inward curve reduces the need for excessive head rotation on large displays
The one negative of a curved monitor
- They are less effective for shared viewing or precision design work where exact geometry is critical.
The Samsung Monitor Specs
The Samsung 27in curved monitor comes with the following features
For those not familiar with curved monitor specifications, this monitor has an 1800R rating. The R rating in a curved monitor is the rating of the radius of the curve in millimeters. The ratings can vary, such as 1000R, 1500R, or, in this monitor’s case, 1800R.
- The lower the R number, the tighter and more aggressive the curve, and the higher the number, the more subtle the curve is. This monitor has an 1800R rating, so the curve is subtle.
As part of the specs for this monitor, it does NOT come with built-in speakers, but it does have a 3.5mm jack on the monitor, so you could plug in a headset or speakers directly into the monitor. I know some people prefer built-in speakers in the monitor. There is a 32in Samsung monitor with built-in speakers available for $179.99 and a 27in Samsung monitor with built-in speakers available for $199.99. **I DO NOT KNOW why the bigger screen with speakers is cheaper**.
Final Thought
As an owner of this monitor model, where I have 2 side by side, this monitor gives a great view and definitely reduced eye strain while looking at screens all day. I can highly recommend this monitor if you are looking for a large single monitor or dual monitors for your day-to-day usage.
