Opting Out Of Data Shared With Apple
For starters, any data collection should be something that end users should agree to, but corporations understand that the majority of end users wouldn’t agree to share their information if they were asked. Instead, corporations go with the “it’s on until you turn it off” mentality because many users don’t know any better and won’t know where to look. One of the biggest concerns you should have about sharing your data is how frequently corporations get breached, with breaches being one of the leading causes of identity theft.
What Does Apple Collect From Your Devices
In the case of Apple, its Analytics & Improvement Section in Settings shares information to “Improve its products and services”, including “Help Improve Siri…by sharing audio recordings and transcripts”.
By default, all these settings are on, and we recommend you turn off ALL of these settings. To find them, open Settings -> Privacy & Security -> scroll down towards the bottom of the screen and select Analytics & Improvements.
** Share iCloud Analytics may not be listed if you are not signed into the settings page (top left) with your iCloud account.
