Securing Your Digital Accounts – Amazon
There are many steps that you should take regularly to secure your digital accounts. One of those steps is verifying what devices are logged into each of your accounts. Today’s post will go over the steps you need to take to verify which devices are logged into your Amazon account and how to deregister (remove) any device that shouldn’t be there.
How To Check Your Amazon Account
- Click on Account Name (top right) -> Click on Account in the drop-down that opens
- On the screen that opens, click on Digital Services and Device Support
- On the Digital Services and Device Support page, look for and click on Manage Content & Devices
- At this point, in the next window, look for and click on Devices
There isn’t much more to do; you are almost at the settings you need to check.
- On the next screen that opens, you will see all of the Amazon offerings you are logged into. It will show how many devices are logged in on each application.
This is where you need to click on each one and review the devices listed. You are looking to remove any old devices you don’t use anymore (Clean Up) and also remove any devices you don’t recognize (Account Security).
- When you go into each option, you will see the name of each device signed in -> the date the device was registered -> and the option to deregister the device.
If it’s an old device, or you DON’T RECOGNIZE the device, you really should deregister the device. When you do, you will get a prompt confirming the removal of the device from Amazon.
