About macOS 11.2.1Â
According to the info released by Apple, 11.2.1 was released to address battery issues on older model MacBook Pro models from 2016 and 2017.
The funny thing, we are seeing battery improvements on a 2019 MacBook Pro after 11.2.1. In addition to the performance fix of the 11.2.1 update, this update also comes with some security updates, two for the Intel Graphics Driver, and one for Sudo.
To Update macOSÂ
To update your Mac just go into system preferences -> software updates and select update to your Mac. The update itself is 2.43 gig in size and will take about 10 min (with a 100MB internet connection) plus another 10 min to install.
Final ThoughtÂ
This is a minor update for Apple, but it is always good practice to keep your computer up to date. Consider updating your software in the same idea as taking your car to get its oil change.
