I’m sure over the last couple of weeks (or months) you have heard about the upcoming solar eclipse on Monday, if you happen to live in an area that will get to see it. For starters, DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN while trying to look at the solar eclipse. You need to have special glasses that are (and this is very important) verified to be compliant with the ISO 12312-2 international safety standard.
If you are still trying to get the special eclipse glasses, here are some retailers that are selling ISO compliant glasses.
- 7-Eleven
- Best Buy
- Hobby Town
- Kirklands
- Kroger
- Love’s Travel Stops
- Lowe’s
- Pilot/Flying J
- Toys “R” Us
- Walmart
So what if you want to record this event on your cell phone, so you can post all over social media what you saw. Well for starters you DO NOT want to just point your phone at the sun and look at the sun that way. You will most likely damage both your phone and your eyes if you do. Here is what you should do if you want to record this once in a life time event.

Lastly, Just remember, this is a once in a lifetime event for most people. Take time to enjoy it and make sure you follow all of the safety recommendations.
