Possible solution If you just upgraded to a Sprint EVO 4G LTE and suddenly cant receive calls (Via pocketables.com)

sprint  Sprint has finally released their new flagship EVO 4G LTE phone. Since the release I have received a few messages from EVO users who have run into an issue where they can make calls with no problem, but for unknown reasons they cant receive any calls, with all calls going straight to voicemail. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get my own original EVO 4G upgraded to the new LTE phone (it will be happening shortly) so I was limited with assistance, until I came across the following.

Pocketables (http://www NULL.pocketables NULL.com) (formally known and Good and Evo) posted steps taken by their staff after the writer of their post PSA: Check Google Voice if you upgraded your Sprint phone and can’t receive calls (http://www NULL.pocketables NULL.com/2012/06/psa-check-google-voice-if-you-upgraded-your-sprint-phone-and-cant-receive-calls NULL.html) and one other person on their staff ran into the same issue. The following steps come from Pocketables

If you’re experiencing the same thing, and you have Google Voice integration enabled on your Sprint account, the issue is actually pretty easy to fix.

  1. Sign out of Google Voice on your phone – either clear your app data in Settings > Apps > All > Google Voice > Clear data, or simply uninstall the app temporarily.
  2. Sign into Google Voice on your computer, go to your settings, click the Disable link next to your phone number, and click Disable Sprint account.
  3. Place a test call to your mobile number. If your phone now rings, you’ve confirmed that the problem was indeed Google Voice, and not anything phone- or network-related.
  4. Wait around 15 minutes, and then return to your Google Voice settings on your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions to re-enable your Sprint account.
  5. Set up Google Voice on your phone again.

I would like to say thank you to John Freml and Pocketables for the solution. I’ve used it successfully on everyone who has reported this issue.  Seems that Sprint tech support isn’t much help with this issue as their only solution so far seems to be replacing the phone (At least that’s what the people who asked me for help on the issue said they were told to do by Sprint).
